Rangers pushing to sign former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan with Juventus willing to cover majority of his wages

Aaron Ramsey is weighing up an offer to join Scottish Premiership champions Rangers, talkSPORT understands.

The Wales international left Arsenal on a free transfer in 2019 and joined Juventus.

Ramsey may be heading for a loan exit before the January window closes

He signed a four-year deal worth a reported £ 400,000-a-week.

This season, he has made just five appearances in all competitions and looks set to make a loan move away from the Turin club.

talkSPORT understands the Gers are pushing to sign Ramsey, with Juventus willing to cover the majority of his wages.

talkSPORT’s Jim White said: “Rangers, we understand, are pushing to sign Aaron Ramsey as we speak. They are trying to convince the player.

Ramsey remains a pivotal figure for Wales

“It should be a loan with a buy option agreed with Juventus. It is now, as we understand it at talkSPORT, up to Aaron Ramsey and his agent.

“Certainly in Italy it has gone viral that Ramsey will head to Scotland and Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers.

“One Italian journalist with Gazetta dello Sport says the final touches are being put on a deal for Ramsey to go to Rangers.”

The 31-year-old has been spotted at a UK airport as he weighs up his options before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.

A move to the Scottish Premiership champions is not out of the question and would be a huge coup for the club.
