Arsenal are poised for a frustrating transfer deadline without striker signings as Jonathan David and Alexander Isak look set to stay at their clubs.

Arsenal are not expected to complete any new signings on the day of the transfer deadline.

Several strikers have been linked with the club throughout the window, including Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Alexander Isak, but none appear to be coming through the doors of the Emirates Stadium.

No one will come to Arsenal, which is a big blow for Mikel Arteta in his search for a place in the top four.

It has been a bad start to the year for the Gunners with defeats in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, which means the club will almost certainly end the season without a trophy.

A new striker would have boosted the club’s mood, but speaking to talkSPORT, Fabrizio Romano told host Jim White that no deal seemed imminent.

“I can understand Arsenal fans [frustrations]. It was not an easy deal with Vlahovic and he decided to join Juventus “, explained the Guardian journalist.

“I’m told his other two goals aren’t easy for the day. Jonathan David is not joining Arsenal today and will stay at Lille and maybe that could be a goal for the summer.

Vlahovic has opted to stay in Serie A with Juventus instead of joining Arsenal

“Alexander Isak, we heard a lot of links when I was in London two days ago. I am told that the Royal Society does not expect anything to happen on the day of the deadline.

“At the moment, the situation is calm.”

A new striker has been needed for some time, especially with the current situation of the club.

After being stripped of his captaincy and frozen by Arteta, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems ready to leave the club, with Barcelona his most likely destination.

Isak could still join the Gunners in the summer, but it looks like he will stay in Spain for the rest of this season.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are also less than six months away from their current offerings and are unlikely to extend their stay in north London.

In addition, his account in front of the goal this season has been far from prolific, with the duo accumulating only three Premier League goals between them in 20 games.
